Death Valley Elopement
Death Valley National Park is a location I’ve been interested in visiting for the longest time! From photos I had found online, it looked like the scenery was really unique and I was surprised to see that it wasn’t a more popular location for elopements or engagement sessions. As an elopement photographer who photographs couples in national parks all the time, I was really intrigued by the landscapes in Death Valley and wanted to see for myself if it was worth recommending to couples. SO that’s how this elopement editorial came to be planned. And spoiler alert - I definitely DO highly recommend this location and I am already dying to go back!
My friend and I spent a day scouting the park and found quite a few amazing spots, but ultimately picked Zabriskie Point for this shoot. It’s honestly hard to describe what it looks like, so thankfully I have photos to show you lol. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before!
Abby and Merritt are the couple in these photos - they are super sweet, have an amazing chemistry, and are total naturals in front of the camera! Abby wore a bohemian style Daci Gowns dress and Merritt wore a neutral colored suit. This combo paired with the stunning dried floral bouquet created by Rebekah of Intrepid Floral Co could not have been more perfect for the setting we chose. When I say that I am actually OBSESSED with these photos, I mean that these might just be my new favorite photos ever. Although I wasn’t sure what to expect from Death Valley, it is officially in my list of top places to elope in California!
