Adamson House Wedding | Malibu, California

Eryn and Matt had the happiest, most relaxed wedding day at the Adamson House in Malibu this summer and it was the biggest joy to be there to capture it! I first met them the previous December when I took their save the date photos at El Matador Beach (check out those photos HERE) and then we did a road trip to Zion together just a few months later (check out thoseee photos HERE). It’s been so much fun getting to know them over the last year and I’m grateful to be able to continue our friendship even after the wedding 💛

Eryn and the girls got ready at the Surfrider Hotel in Malibu, which is not only super convenient for an Adamson House wedding because it’s just a few minutes away from the venue, but it is also the CUTEST little hotel ever with lots of fun spots for photos! I took most of Eryn’s details photos in the small library / lounge area above the reception office and then we came back later for some shots of her in her dress!

When we got to the venue, it was time for the wedding party photos and then the ceremony! Eryn and Matt got married under a beautiful oak tree on the lawns next to the ocean and it was perfect. These two have been together for over 10 years - 10 YEARS - and they’re finally married!! I’m so happy for them and I will probably relive this day over and over again because it was just the best.

A few more things about this stunning Spanish style venue because I absolutely LOVED working here! The Adamson House is actually a historical landmark that was built in 1929 and survived almost being converted to a beach parking lot despite how beautiful and significant it was 😳 I won’t write out the full story here, but if you’re interested in learning more about the history of this place, check out the website! The house is decorated so extensively with tile that some people call it the "Taj Mahal of Tile”. Eryn actually tied this iconic aspect of the venue into their wedding even more by giving each guest their own decorative tile to take home. So cool! The Adamson house is considered a California State Park and you can actually come here for a tour during certain parts of the year! This is something Eryn and Matt had available for their guests during cocktail hair while we were off taking their portraits.
