Danielle & Edward
Malibu Creek State Park Engagement Session
Danielle and Edward’s engagement session at Malibu Creek State Park could not have been any more perfect. These two have a very loving and playful relationship and were so much fun to be around! They’re usually pretty goofy with each other but Danielle wanted to capture the other side of their relationship in their photos too - the more intimate and romantic side. I LOVED this and am completely obsessed with how the photos turned out.
They showed up to the session ULTRA prepared and I’m such a proud photographer because of how great of clients they are LOL. They brought hiking shoes to walk the trails and up the hills, scouted the location prior to the shoot and had spots in mind that they loved, color coordinated their outfits PERFECTLY with the scenery and even had rose water mist to freshen up their faces (umm definitely stealing this tip for future couples!!).
Our first stop for the shoot was at this big beautiful tree surrounded by golden grass - aka the iconic Malibu Creek State Park tree you’ve probably seen in photos before. It gave us enough shade to use before the sun got a little less harsh in the sky but also had pockets of space in the branches that still allowed the sun to shine through, creating a magical warmth to the photos. We ended up embracing the harsh sun anyway to get some views of the golden hills in the background and I think those photos are my personal favorites.
For part two of the session, we made our way up the hills for a higher perspective and Danielle switched into a gorgeous mustard yellow colored dress that not only looked BOMB AF on her, but looked amazing in the golden hour light we were #blessed with.
I left this session SO excited and inspired and I’m forever thankful for couples like Danielle and Edward who make me love my job so much.
